The Maruti Omni has undergone few cosmetic changes in the recent times. The four wheeler looks impressive with rear hatch tail gate, two exciting rear sliding doors and its brilliant box-shaped body. There are well-placed headlamps surrounded with black plastic. The car is integrated with the front indicators on the front bumpers. The car sports large rear windscreen and tail lamps added with clear lens.

The thermoplastic front bumpers, a bigger bumper and 13-inch tyres are quite impressive in this micro-van. The vehicle gets straight rectangle headlamps and vertically-stacked tail lamps with clear lens. It features chrome grille at the front, body-coloured side view mirrors, tail lamps and black bumpers. The conventional interior design is really outdated, though the company tried to refresh it by adding cup holders, dual-tone upholstery with cushioning on inner wall, lockable glove box, new steering wheel, booster-assisted front disc brakes, headrest for driver and front passenger.

The ambulance trim gets some additional features such as box-type stretcher stand-cum-seat, ECG machine, 12-volt plug point for operating a suction machine, folding stretcher, rear seat (for two passengers) with backrest, siren, flasher light, medicine box and stand for oxygen cylinder and saline bottle. The all-new variants of Maruti Omni are empowered by the 796 cc capacity engine of Maruti 800. The vehicles use its 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder, 12valve multipoint fuel injection engine with a displacement of 796 cc. The power mill is capable to produce the maximum power output of 32.8 bhp achieved at 5000 rpm and the maximum torque of 57 Nm at 2500 rpm. Most of the Maruti cars are suitable for city drives.

Maruti Suzuki cars are known for their mileage, service and maintenance. The Maruti Omni is underpowered and claims to deliver a fuel economy of 14.7 kmpl in the petrol version, while the LPG engine claims to return about 10.9 kilometers per kilogram. The petrol engine feels under-powered, though, the refinement level is pretty decent. Fuel efficiency could be better. The vehicle gets unstable at high speeds. City driving dynamics is good. Ride is bouncy, and very uncomfortable on rough roads.Braking performance is mediocre. The MUV, except the front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, doesn’t get any electronic braking assistance.

This is a car commercial purpose and mostly not good for family purposes.The Maruti Omni has huge competition when compared to the Maruti Eeco.
